Enershare

European commoN EneRgy dataSpace framework enabling data sHaring-driven Across- and beyond- energy sErvices

The project

The ongoing digitalization of the energy transition is making an enormous amount of data available that can contribute to greater efficiency at the system level and thus facilitate the energy transition.

However, the energy sector still lags behind in data sharing, primarily due to reduced trust, privacy risks and immature business models.

ENERSHARE will provide a reference architecture for a European energy data space. This architecture connects SGAM with IDSA and GAIA X and brings the perspective of the data value chain to the energy sector.

The prerequisites for the development of a European energy data space will be created by aligning it with EU initiatives (GAIA X, IDSA, BDVA, ETIP SNET, BRIDGE) in order to contribute to the standardization of the data space and create a level playing field for data exchange.

Under the leadership of Fraunhofer FIT, requirements, user stories and reference architectures for an energy data space are being designed. To this end, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is combining solutions and know-how from the institutes Fraunhofer IEE, Fraunhofer IOSB AST and Fraunhofer FIT.

Our solutions

  • Design of a data protection-friendly data exchange architecture
  • Implementation of this architecture on the project platforms used in the project FIWARE, IDSA
  • Development and demonstration of a management tool for “usage control” to maintain data sovereignty.
  • The results will be made available as open source for the platforms.
